The OHA rates displayed on this Site are APPROXIMATE ESTIMATES and should not be relied upon as exact figures.

Unlike BAH (which is a fixed monthly amount), OHA is a cost-reimbursement allowance with rates that fluctuate based on several factors:

• Currency exchange rates - OHA ceilings are set in local currency (EUR, JPY, KRW, GBP) but paid in USD. As exchange rates change, your dollar amount changes. This can happen as frequently as every pay period.
• Actual rent vs. ceiling - OHA reimburses your actual rent up to a maximum ceiling. If your rent is below the ceiling, you receive less than the maximum shown.
• Periodic DOD surveys - The DOD periodically surveys housing costs and adjusts ceilings, meaning rates can change at any time.

The dollar amounts shown on this Site were calculated using approximate exchange rates as of early 2025 and are derived from publicly available DOD data and military community sources. Your actual OHA may be significantly higher or lower than the estimates shown.
