Our Mission
Our OHA Calculator gives U.S. military service members stationed overseas a fast, free way to estimate their Overseas Housing Allowance. OHA is more complex than stateside BAH — it fluctuates with currency exchange rates, has separate rent and utility components, and varies by dependency status. We built this tool to cut through that complexity.

What This Calculator Does
Select your pay grade, overseas duty station, and dependency status to see your estimated monthly OHA broken down into rental ceiling and utility allowance. The calculator covers 30 installations across Germany, Japan, South Korea, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Spain.
For servicemembers without dependents, the calculator shows the difference between your current rate and the higher with-dependents rate — so you can see exactly how much getting married would increase your allowance.
How OHA Differs from BAH
BAH is a fixed monthly amount you keep regardless of your actual rent. OHA is a cost-reimbursement — you're reimbursed your actual rent up to a ceiling, plus a flat utility allowance. If your rent is below the ceiling, you only receive what you pay. OHA also changes with exchange rates, sometimes every pay period.
Our estimates use approximate USD conversions and should be used for planning, not as exact figures.
Why We Built This
This site is provided by WeddingProxy.com (406 Proxy, LLC), a Montana-based company specializing in double proxy marriages for active duty military. Many of the servicemembers we work with are stationed overseas and trying to understand how marriage affects their OHA. This calculator gives them that answer instantly.
